Mark Lawrence introduced the Sunshine Coast group to painting sand dunes with pastels, with some tales about the Cyclone Alfred to add to the drama. Among the many tips and tricks shared by Mark, there was wisdom Mark has drawn from PSA masters who he has learned from. And there were his Dad jokes (insert groan!).

Mostly, we were struck by the simplicity and efficiency of Mark’s approach, working dark to light, using pastel blocks and pastel pencils, talking up the wonders of turquoise and purple in strategic places.
