Pamela Pretty

Pamela Pretty has been drawing and painting from an early age, initially working with watercolours to paint birds and flowers, and selling her first artwork in her teens. After many years of painting in acrylics and teaching, she transitioned to pastels in 2004, finding an immediate connection with the medium. Tutored by Walter Magilton, she began exhibiting in shows and won Best Pastel at the first one she entered—the Frankston High School Art Show. This success was followed by numerous awards, including MEC Awards at the Pastel Society of Victoria, Best Painting at the AGRA Winter Exhibition 2013, and Best Pastel at the Mornington Rotary Art Show in 2016.

Pamela’s passion lies in painting landscapes and seascapes en plein air, with additional interests in animal studies and portraiture. Her first solo exhibition, "Unforgettable" in 2011, was highly successful, followed by "Horizons" in late 2012 at the St. Vincents Hospital Gallery. She has consistently been selected for the Art of Excellence Awards Exhibition at AGRA over the past four years. Pamela was also an Artist in Residence at St. Vincents Hospital in Melbourne from 2011-2012.

Pamela also teaches pastel, watercolour, and oil painting and offers demonstrations, workshops, critiques, and judging for art societies and groups.
