Details:
Duration: 2 day workshop
Working with figures can be so much fun. There are subjects everywhere we look: at a Gallery, at a dog park, in the waiting room, in a café, on the beach, In the street in cities, on a farm, rounding cattle/sheep, to name but a few. So many endless subjects!
Workshop will cover how to draw up, what to leave out, how to use a few images to create an interesting composition and story. If using multiple images, focus on creating the same light source for directional shadows and highlights.
The goal is to create two pastels over the two days: one using watercolour underpainting and one blocking in with pastel then wetting the pastel as a sound underplanting.
We shall focus on simplifying the subject, colour choices, edges and composition. The gesture of a figure shows movement so I shall show how to simplify drawing a figure with this in mind.
You may wish to use your own images taken by you (please, no internet images). It's more fun to find your own images. Reference photos will be provided as well.
