Monthly Zoom Demonstrations
Our monthly online ZOOM* demonstrations are led by expert pastellists. These sessions, coming from the studio of the guest presenter, are interactive and offer techniques, styles, and creative inspiration for artists of all levels.
2nd Tuesday of each month, February to November
5.30 PM (general chat) for a 6.00 PM start A.E.S.T. (Brisbane, Qld time) -8.30 PM
FREE access for all PSA Members to watch (Zoom link emailed to members every month)
Non-members: $10 – email treasurerozpastels@gmail.com to request access and invoice at least 3 days prior.
Most demonstrations will be available to members as videos on the members area of our website after the event.
Certain demonstrations are accessible only during the live session.
*Zoom is a communications platform that allows users to connect with video, audio, phone, and chat. Using Zoom requires an internet connection and a supported device (mobile phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer). You do not need to create a Zoom account.

Monthly Zoom Competitions
A PSA Member-Exclusive Opportunity
Members are invited to participate in our Monthly Zoom Competitions and bi-annual Set Subject Competitions held alongside the monthly demonstrations.
Rules:

Eligibility: PSA members only

Entry Fee: Free
-
Judging Categories: General Members, Accomplished Pastellists (AP, PSA), Master Pastellists (MP, PSA)

Judging Process: Conducted by the Zoom demonstrator of the month
-
Entry Limit: Maximum of 2 paintings per entrant (max file size: 2MB each)

Frequency: 8 times a year.

AP/MP Winner: $25
Set Subject Competitions
Twice a Year, With Bigger Prizes

Our special Set Subject Competitions are held in June and November, with unique themes to challenge and inspire members.

Entry Limit: 2 paintings (max file size: 2MB each)

Judging Process: Judged independently by the monthly Zoom demonstrator

Winners of any PSA Set Subject Competition become ineligible to enter the annual Alexandra Awards (for members who’ve never won a first prize for a pastel painting in an art competition) run in conjunction with the PSA Annual Awards Exhibition.
