SOFT PASTEL ONLY NO OIL PASTEL

Join in for a colourful and enlightening workshop working from your own reference material and looking for tone and rhythm in the landscape. I would normally work plein air, however for the purpose of this workshop, I will be working from either paintings or drawings done on-site or from photos. Learn how to simplify form, to deliver the message in slashes of pastel. Learn new skills in glazing and what I call wetting down pastel.

You can expect a creative and fun learning experience.

Paul McCarthy FRAS - Sydney 1966 - McCarthy has a unique understanding and approach to colour  and the Australian landscape. He works in all mediums and his pastels illustrate his drawing skills combined with intuitive colour harmonies and tonal passages. He formally trained in painting and drawing and then Architectural Drafting; before obtaining a diploma of logistics management. His works are highly prized and in both corporate and private collections here and overseas.
