About The Demo:

Karen King: Playing with Gold Leaf and pastels.

The PSA will be providing the Gold, Silver and Copper leaf along with the appropriate adhesives.

Members are asked to bring along some pastel paper approx. ½ sheet, their favourite pastels, cotton gloves or large soft mop brush and a ½” -1” soft flat taklon brush for the glue. They may also like to bring along their own reference photo of a sunrise or sunset which has lots of gold colouring in it. I will have a reference photo on the night for them to use if that is their preference. .

Materials Needed

½ sheet sanded pastel paper which can withstand being wet. Colourfix is ideal

Gold leaf sheets (loose or transfer/shipped with tissue paper) PSA will supply

Gold size (water-based adhesive) PSA will supply

Soft flat brush ½’ – 1” for the glue

Dry, soft mop brush or cotton ball for pressing and cleaning

Cotton gloves (optional, to stop fingerprints)

Old towel to protect the tables

Reference photo (optional)
