About the Demo:
Karol Oakley – Shadows and Light: How to Confidently Use Contrast and Colour
In this Zoom demonstration, Karol Oakley explores the powerful role of shadows and light in creating believable, dynamic pastel paintings. Learn how to use contrast and colour with confidence to enhance depth, mood, and visual impact, helping your artworks truly shine.
Karol will share practical insights into seeing and simplifying values, choosing effective colour relationships, and using light and shadow to strengthen composition and realism. This demonstration is ideal for artists wanting to elevate their work through stronger tonal control and expressive colour choices.
