'Using Black PanPastels on White Paper' by Alex Louisa

Alex Louisa was our guide for the Brisbane demo’ event on July 1st, entitled ‘Using Black PanPastels on White Paper’.

Participants were treated to some of the magic that Alex coaxes from the tools she uses for her work. There are different decisions to be made when working with PanPastels; for example, not all papers will hold pastel in ways that allow for useful effects, and using erasers for detailed line work is best achieved with a smooth ground. Using tools with pastels is also new to many pastel folk – but oh, the possibilities!

The results are nothing short of stunning, as you can see from the images. Inspiring times!
