'Working With Coloured PanPastels' by Alex Louisa

Alex Louisa once again worked her magic, this time using coloured PanPastels, at the July 15th Sunshine Coast meeting. In an intimate roundtable format, participants were able to closely observe the many variations possible when mixing PanPastel colours on different papers.

Attendees were able to see the intricacies of how sponge tools and erasers can achieve different effects via blending and mark-making, to create the illusion of gorgeous textures. Using the flat edges, sides, or other angle of her sponge tools and erasers, a two-dimensional work comes alive under Alex’s touch.

The session was quite a lively one, as Alex was peppered with questions throughout her demo’. Brains could be seen ticking over…with ideas and motivation…and learning!
