Cathy has always had an interest in art and drawing since she was young. She is a qualified Chef who returned to art to cope with chronic pain, by immersing herself totally in the process of creativity. 

Early artworks were created under the pseudonym Caitlin Zayne.

She is drawn to a variety of subjects including Wildlife, Landscapes, Still Life and Portraits, winning awards in each category, in local art shows and online exhibitions.

Striving for a realism, the paintings are highly detailed. With many of the subjects being zoomed-in to give the viewer an unusual viewpoint, similar to macro photography.

Her artwork is created predominately with pastel pencils and pan pastels, with the addition of soft pastels.

Her goal for the future is to take up art full time, share knowledge and introduce as many artists to pastels as possible. It has been seen as an inferior medium in the past but is slowly gaining renaissance due to its pure pigment and intense colour, easy use and transportation.
