Miriam Frerix is a painter based on the North Sea coast of Northern Germany. Born in Hamburg in 1987, she studied Communication and New Media Design before completing her Bachelor of Arts at Buckinghamshire New University in England. 

After several years working as an award-winning art director in international advertising agencies, including in New York, she transitioned in 2018 to pursue painting full-time. Her work is characterized by a focus on contrast and emotional depth, exploring the relationship between surface and substance, visibility and perception. 

Through realistic portraiture, she seeks to reveal the complexity beneath outward appearances. Miriam Frerix currently lives and works in Denmark.
